FOREST MANAGEMENT TRAINING CENTRE
One of the seven aims of ICFOW’s major program called REWILD TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK (TPNP) in collaboration with World Relief Australia https://www.wra.org.au/2018conserveourworld is the establishment of a Forest Management Training Centre in the village of Tanjung Harapan, in TPNP.
The aim of the Centre is the training of villagers around the park in all aspects of forest tree growing, planting, maintenance, and protection with extra modules in fire protection, security and guiding of visitors to the park. During the 2015 fires (destroying over 130,000 ha) little help was obtained from outside sources, and most of the attempts of fire protection came from ill equipped villagers.
Tanjung Putting National Park
The creation of modules has been completed by Meryl Wilson and we are now ready to recruit teaching staff and begin our first course. Staff from our Rimba Orangutan Ecolodge will be involved in some of the teaching positions and as paid students on the course. This program is vital in the struggle to save the Rimba Orangutan Ecolodge.
Currently we have raised fund to start tree planting program phase I. The remainder of the budget is needed to plant 15,000 trees, establish a tented camp in the location (in the wild south of the park), establish security systems and purchase some capital equipment (eg knapsack sprayers, protective clothing and drones).

Salah satu dari tujuh tujuan program utama YKI BK yang disebut REWILD TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK (TPNP) bekerja sama dengan World Relief Australia https://www.wra.org.au/2018conserveourworld adalah pendirian Pusat Pelatihan Pelestarian Hutan di desa Tanjung Harapan, di TPNP.
Taman Nasional Tanjung Putting
Tujuan dari Pusat Pelatihan ini adalah untuk melatih penduduk desa di sekitar taman nasional dalam semua aspek penanaman, penanaman, pemeliharaan, dan perlindungan pohon hutan dengan modul tambahan dalam perlindungan kebakaran, keamanan dan membimbing pengunjung ke taman nasional. Selama kebakaran tahun 2015 (menghancurkan lebih dari 130.000 ha), hanya sedikit bantuan yang diperoleh dari sumber luar, dan sebagian besar upaya perlindungan kebakaran datang dari penduduk desa yang kurang perlengkapan.
Pembuatan modul telah diselesaikan oleh Meryl Wilson dan kami sekarang siap untuk merekrut staf pengajar, dan memulai kursus pertama kami.
