HOW TO PLANT A TREE-
The culmination of the Forest Management Training Course, Rimba, Kalimantan.
The course has been very enthusiastically supported not only by our own Eco Lodges staff, but village participants. As proof of their learning each has planted a tree from the seedlings grown by Harapan village, some quite tall as they have been growing for over a year.

Covid and then governmental problems with illegal Carbon Credit trading have stalled our own planting till the new year, perhaps not all bad as there has been flooding in the planting area.
In the images taken at Rimba you can see it is partially flooded there too, so it will be a good indicator for the ability of the trees to cope with the conditions.
Nine varieties of fruit bearing forest trees have been planted, each one labelled with the name of the tree and the participant. the orangutans, proboscis and macaque monkeys love them, and help to reseed them.
We still need to learn how to test the soil for minerals so we can give the correct fertilizer when we have more money. The main points are the correct sized hole for the root, and only planting seedlings with undamaged roots.
We hope that each participant can now guide and teach ten more people so we are ready to plant thousands of trees for The CONSERVE OUR WORLD program in 2022.

Puncak dari Kegiatan Pelatihan Pengelolaan Hutan, Rimba, Kalimantan.
Kursus ini didukung dengan sangat antusias tidak hanya oleh staf Ecolodges kami sendiri, tetapi juga oleh peserta desa. Sebagai bukti pembelajaran selama ini, mereka masing-masing telah menanam pohon dari bibit yang disemai di desa Tanjung Harapan, beberapa bibit sudah cukup tinggi karena mereka telah tumbuh selama lebih dari setahun.
Penanaman
Pandemi dan kemudian masalah pemerintah dengan perdagangan Kredit Karbon ilegal telah menunda sementara program penanaman hingga tahun baru, mungkin ini juga tidak buruk karena saat ini masih ada banjir di area penanaman.
Dalam video yang diambil di Rimba, kita dapat melihatnya kegiatan penanaman termasuk di area yang tergenang air, jadi ini akan menjadi indikator yang baik untuk kemampuan pohon untuk hidup di kondisi tersebut.
Sembilan varietas pohon hutan penghasil buah telah ditanam, masing-masing diberi label nama pohon dan penanamnya. orangutan, Bekantan, dan kera sangat menyukai jenis pohon ini, dan membantu menyemai kembali.
Kami masih perlu belajar bagaimana menguji tanah untuk mineral sehingga kami dapat memberikan pupuk yang benar ketika kami memiliki lebih banyak dana. Poin utama adalah ukuran lubang yang benar untuk akar, dan hanya menanam bibit dengan akar yang tidak rusak.
Kami berharap setiap peserta sekarang dapat membimbing dan mengajar sepuluh orang lagi sehingga kami siap menanam ribuan pohon untuk program THE CONSERVE OUR WORLD pada tahun 2022.
