Discover Central Kalimantan at the famous Rimba Ecolodge. You will have the chance to witness orangutans, cruise along the river and spot the Proboscis monkey. Jungle trek and visit the famous Camp Leakey to see orangutans that have been reintroduced to the forest.

Arrive Bali. Transfer to Puri Bambu, Jimbaran. Welcome dinner
9.00-12.30 - Travel Sketching workshop. Discuss colours and techniques for sketching the orangutans and working from photographs to complete sketches. Afternoon Sketching in and around the Lodge and relaxing
6.30pm - Dinner
Fly to Pangkalan Bun Airport, Kalimantan, Borneo. Transfer by klotok to Rimba Ecolodge. Arrive Rimba late afternoon. Sketch around Ecolodge
6.30pm - Dinner then short talk and video on orangutan ecology
Morning, explore area around ecolodge, sketching .
Afternoon travelling by klotok to the Tandjung Harapan feeding station. Sketch or photograph the orangutans.
Evening: Short talk and film on orangutan ecology
06.30pm - Dinner
7.00am - Breakfast
8.00am - After breakfast visit the Reforestation Centre.
There is leisurely 45 min. Walk through forest and a small medicinal plant area, with very good bird viewings. Take a boat ride to Camp Leakey, possibly the most famous place for orangutan research in the world, with lunch along the way. Visit the Education Centre. The boat trip back travels through any roosting areas of the Proboscis monkeys.
8.00am 1 hour boat trip takes us up to the Pondok Tangui feeding station.
We may see Giant Squirrels, pigs and many butterflies on the walk in. Enjoy a short walk around the area before boarding the boat. We will have lunch on the boat
Afternoon: Visit the Harapan Village. There will also be the opportunity to visit the local village across the river.
8.00am Breakfast. Return to Bali Transfer and overnight at Puri Bambu
Free time to finish sketches. Afternoon exhibition. Farewell dinner
Transfer to airport. Flights home
