DAY 1: Arrival via Ende or Maumere – Walk around Lodge.
Welcome to Flores!!
Arrival at Ende Airport or Maumere Airport, and transfer to the lodge. From Ende airport it will takes about 1.5 hours-drive, and from Maumere about 1.5 hours-drive. Arriving at the Lodge for check in. it is depend on your arrival time, after lunch and siesta, your guide will take you a short walk around our lodge. Welcome and dinner and overnight at the lodge.
DAY 2: The Kelimutu Lakes at Dawn, Hiking and Moni Village.
This activity will need you to wake up early!
We will starting about 04.00 with a cup of Coffee or tea, and then depart to the Three Color Lakes National park. One of the main aims of this tour is to see the Kelimutu Lakes at dawn,
a magic experience. You will drive, with your guide, to the crater lakes (around 12km) through the base of the Kelimutu National Park. You then walk to the lakes through woodland where hopefully you will hear the beautiful song of The Bare throated Whistler, arriving at the top just before dawn. See the sunrise, at the top site with a coffee, at the lakes (a magic moment) and just enjoy the whole scene and environment after walking to view all the three lakes. You will back to the lodge for breakfast.
Later after breakfast your guide will take you to visit the waterfall near by the lodge and to see the village of Moni . During this walk you should meet many of the Lio people, and learn about local agriculture. Lunch and dinner at the Lodge.
DAY 3 Trekking, Birding, Villages, Culture, and People.
Have a leisurely breakfast and depart for tours.
This all-day trip takes you to Ngela traditional village and its Ikat weavers and dyers, with a magnificent view overlooking the ocean. You will learn about local weaving practices, the, meaning of motifs in the culture and many other facts about village life of the Lio people.
On this day you could also visit the local coffee plantation, and try the Flores coffee. Dinner at the lodge.
DAY 4 Depart.
This activity is depending on your flight schedule.
After breakfast, you will depart for Ende or Maumere. If you’re leaving via Ende, you will driving down the spectacular coast with its black beaches to an impregnable traditional house in a village, Wonotobo, high above its ocean. There is a chance also to visit the house of exile of Sukarno, Indonesia’s first President. before go to airport. During this tour you will get a feeling for the remoteness of some villages in the mountains, the beauty of Flores and study a bit of Indonesian history.
